TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ Tallahassee, FL - In a recent announcement, Governor Ron DeSantis has appointed two individuals to serve as judges on the Sixth District Court of Appeal. Rachel Kamoutsas, hailing from Oakland, will take on the role of Judge while Joshua Pratt, from Lakeland, will also join the court.

Kamoutsas brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having previously served as the Chief of Staff and Corporate Secretary for the Board of Governors for the State University System of Florida. She also worked as a Deputy General Counsel for the Florida Office of the Attorney General. Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a juris doctor from Regent University School of Law. Kamoutsas' appointment fills a vacancy created by Senate Bill 2508.

Joining her on the Sixth District Court of Appeal is Joshua Pratt, who has been serving as an Administrative Law Judge for the Division of Administrative Hearings since 2024. Prior to that, he worked as a Deputy General Counsel for Governor DeSantis. Pratt holds both a bachelor's degree and juris doctor from Florida State University. His appointment also fills a vacancy created by Senate Bill 2508.

These appointments come as part of Governor DeSantis' efforts to fill judicial vacancies in accordance with Senate Bill 2508. Both Kamoutsas and Pratt bring valuable experience and qualifications to their new roles on the Sixth District Court of Appeal.
