TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - In a press release today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of two new judges to the Florida court system. Chris Bufano, hailing from Bristol, has been selected to serve as a Judge on the Liberty County Court. Lillian Ewen, from Fort Pierce, will serve as a Judge on the Nineteenth Circuit Court.

Bufano brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Deputy General Counsel for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement since 2022. Prior to that, he worked as an Assistant State Attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. He holds a bachelor's degree from Wilmington University and a juris doctorate from Widener University Delaware Law School. Bufano will be filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Hosford.

Ewen also has an impressive background in law, having served as a General Magistrate in the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court since 2021. She previously worked as a Senior Staff Attorney in the same court. Ewen earned her bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University and her juris doctorate from the University of Florida. She will be filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Keeler.

Both Bufano and Ewen have been chosen for their extensive legal knowledge and dedication to serving their communities. Their appointments are expected to bring valuable contributions to their respective courts.
