TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ Tallahassee, FL - Governor Ron DeSantis has announced the appointment of several individuals to Florida's Judicial Nominating Commissions. These commissions are responsible for recommending candidates for judicial positions to the governor.

Among the appointments is Jason Gonzalez, a Shareholder at Lawson Huck Gonzalez, PLLC in Tallahassee. Gonzalez holds both a bachelor's degree and a juris doctor from the University of Florida and will serve on the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission until July 1, 2027.

Also appointed to the Second Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is Nick Meros, a Partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP in Tallahassee. Meros earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and his juris doctor from Vanderbilt University. He will serve until July 1, 2027.

Amanda Neff, Deputy General Counsel at the Reemployment Assistance Appeals Commission in Tallahassee, has been appointed from a list of nominees recommended by the Florida Bar. Neff holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. She will serve until July 1, 2027.

Joining Neff on the Second Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is Jason Vail, a Shareholder at Allen Norton & Blue, PA in Tallahassee. Vail holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from Florida State University. He will serve until July 1, 2026.
