TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Governor Ron DeSantis has announced three new judicial appointments today, filling vacancies in various courts across the state.

Randall Daugustinis, a resident of St. Augustine, has been appointed as a Judge on the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court. Daugustinis brings with her years of experience as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit since 2020 and previously served in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Tampa and a juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Daugustinis will be filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Warren.

Joining her on the bench is Benjamin Rich, also from St. Augustine, who has been appointed as a Judge on the St. Johns County Court. Rich has been serving as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventh Judicial Circuit since 2010 and previously worked as an Attorney for McCune Law P.A. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Rich will be filling the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Blocker.

The third appointment announced by Governor DeSantis is Derek Lewis, hailing from Key West, who will serve as a Judge on the Monroe County Court. Lewis brings with him extensive legal experience, having worked as Managing Attorney for Derek A. Lewis P.A. since 2021 and previously serving as an Assistant State Attorney in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University. Lewis will be filling the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge Morgan.

These appointments come at crucial times when there are vacancies in various courts across Florida due to retirements and elevations of judges to higher positions. With their diverse backgrounds and extensive legal experience, Daugustinis, Rich, and Lewis are expected to serve the state's judicial system with integrity and fairness.
