Florida: Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Three to the State Retirement Commission

TALLAHASSEE, Fla ~ TALLAHASSEE, Fla— In a press release today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of three individuals to the State Retirement Commission. Jason Andreotta, Jesse Dyer, and Alexandra LaTorre have been selected to serve on the commission.

Andreotta brings a wealth of experience to the commission as he currently serves as the Assistant Deputy Secretary of Regulatory Programs for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. He is also actively involved in his community, having previously served on the Indian River Lagoon Council Board of Directors and the Lake Worth Lagoon Initiative Steering Committee. Andreotta holds a bachelor's degree in earth and environmental sciences from Lehigh University.

Joining him on the commission is Jesse Dyer, a Partner at Shutts & Bowen, LLP. Dyer has previously worked as an Assistant General Counsel for both the Florida Department of State and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. He earned his bachelor's degree in political science from Florida State University and his juris doctor from St. Thomas University.

Rounding out the appointments is Alexandra LaTorre, who currently serves as a Policy Coordinator for the Finance and Economic Analysis Unit of the Office of Policy and Budget within the Executive Office of the Governor. She has also held positions as a Policy Analyst for the Florida House of Representatives Ways & Means Committee and a Senior Economist for the Office of Policy and Budget within the Executive Office of the Governor. LaTorre holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international affairs from Florida State University.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Once confirmed, Andreotta, Dyer, and LaTorre will join other members on the State Retirement Commission to oversee retirement benefits for state employees. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences make them well-suited for this important role in shaping retirement policies for Floridians.
