Florida: Governor Ron DeSantis Appoints Six to the Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee

ALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has appointed Alex Anderson, Dr. Rosemary Laird, Jason Lederman, and Stacy Plean to the Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee. Corinne Labyak and Dr. Jonathan Weiss have been reappointed to the committee.

Alex Anderson is the Vice President of Public Policy for the Florida Alzheimer's Association. He previously worked as Legislative Affairs Director for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, Deputy Legislative Affairs Director for the Florida Department of Education, and an Attorney for the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. Anderson holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Florida and a juris doctor from Florida State University.

Dr. Rosemary Laird is Chief Medical Officer of My Memory Clinic, LLC and Navigating Aging Needs, LLC. She is a former board member of Senior Resource Alliance and a current member of American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Laird earned her bachelor's degree from Loyola University, master's degree in health services administration from University of Kansas, and Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University.

Jason Lederman is Client Care Liaison for American In-Home Care. He was formerly a detective with Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and served on Board of Directors for Fraternal Order of Police. Lederman holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from University of North Florida.

Stacy Plean is Broker Associate for LoKation Real Estate. She is a member of Florida Realtors Board of Directors and Realtors Association Faculty Member for Broward, Palm Beach, and St Lucie counties. Plean attended Nassau Community College.

Corinne Labyak holds a PhD as an Associate Professor at University of North Florida; she is also a registered and licensed dietitian who serves as President at First Coast Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics as well as being part Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research & Treatments; Labyak earned her bachelor's degree from FSU, master's degree from UNF & doctorate in nutritional sciences from UF .

Dr Jonathan Weiss serves as Director Strategic Innovation at INSIGHTEC; he was formerly Consumer Experience & Loyalty Manager at MetroPlus Healthplan & Director Rehabilitation at Excellent Home Care; he currently serves as Director Israel Service Organization & Focused Ultrasound Neuroscience Research Institute; Weiss holds bachelor's & master's degrees in physical therapy from Touro College & doctorate in physical therapy from Utica College .

Governor DeSantis has appointed these individuals to serve on the Alzheimer's Disease Advisory Committee due to their expertise in various fields related to healthcare services such as medicine, nutrition science, physical therapy etc., which will help them provide valuable insights into tackling this disease effectively .
