Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Bradley Cherry, Thomas McCawley, Christine Bojaxhi, and Jose Mellado to the Board of Dentistry.

Bradley Cherry

Cherry, of Ponte Vedra Beach, owns an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Practice in St. Augustine. He is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and serves as a surgeon on the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at Wolfson Children Hospital. Cherry earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia, his masters degree from the College of William & Mary, his doctorate of dental surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University and his doctorate of medicine from the University of Florida.

Thomas McCawley

McCawley, of Fort Lauderdale, is the President of McCawley Periodontics P.A. Previously, he served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontics and Florida Association of Periodontists. McCawley earned his bachelor's degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois and his certificate of advanced graduate study from Boston University College of Graduate Dentistry.

Christine Bojaxhi

Bojaxhi, of Neptune Beach, is a Dentist at the Mayo Clinic of Florida and Comfortable Care Dental Health. Previously, she was a General Dentist with the Livello Dental Group and Chair of the New Dentist Committee of the American Student Dental Association. Bojaxhi earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Villanova University and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Jose Mellado

Mellado, of North Miami, is a Dentist with del Amo and Mellado Periodontics in Coral Gables. He has been a member of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation, American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. Mellado earned his master's degree in oral biology from Temple University and his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Puerto Rico.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
