CLEARWATER, Fla. ~ Clearwater, Fla. - Governor Ron DeSantis paid tribute to the legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan today by dedicating a portion of the Clearwater Trail in Pinellas County as the "Hulk Hogan Trail." The two-mile stretch on State Road 60 will now bear the name of the iconic wrestler, who passed away in 2025.
Joined by family and friends of Hulk Hogan, Governor DeSantis spoke about the wrestler's extraordinary life and lasting impact on the Tampa Bay area. "It was an honor to be in Pinellas County this morning to dedicate a portion of the Clearwater Trail as the 'Hulk Hogan Trail,'" said Governor DeSantis. "Although he is no longer with us, Hulk Hogan's legacy continues to live on."
The dedication was made official through a proclamation signed by Governor DeSantis. The newly named Hulk Hogan Trail will feature special signage and exercise equipment in his signature red and yellow colors. This will allow members of the community of all ages to engage in recreation and fitness activities while honoring Hulk Hogan's legacy.

The equipment, including an inclined bench, parallel bars, double monkey bars, double push-up bars, and multi-use exercise unit, is currently being installed and is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24th, 2025 at his home in Florida. He began his wrestling career in 1977 and quickly rose to fame after joining World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Throughout his career, he held numerous titles including six-time winner of the World Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship.
Aside from his successful career in wrestling and fitness, Hulk Hogan was also known for his philanthropy work across Florida. He supported various charitable initiatives such as youth mentorship programs, sports programs for underprivileged children, wellness programs, education initiatives, and community development projects that aimed to uplift vulnerable individuals and empower future generations to live healthy lives.
The dedication of the Hulk Hogan Trail is a fitting tribute to the wrestler's legacy and his contributions to the community. As the trail is officially renamed, it will serve as a reminder of Hulk Hogan's impact on the Tampa Bay area and his dedication to giving back to those in need.
