The day marks the ninth anniversary of the tragic shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, where forty-nine people lost their lives and fifty-three were injured.

The shooter, who claimed allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, committed an act of terrorism that shook the nation. In remembrance of the victims, their families, and all those affected by this senseless act of violence, Governor DeSantis has directed all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout Florida to lower their flags from sunrise to sunset on Thursday.
