~ Governor Ron DeSantis has declared that flags will be flown at half-staff on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day. This day is dedicated to honoring the lives of local, state, and federal officers who have lost their lives or been disabled while serving their communities.

The tradition of Peace Officers Memorial Day and National Police Week was established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy. It serves as a reminder to never forget the sacrifices made by law enforcement officers in protecting the safety and freedoms of citizens.
