PALM COAST, Fla. - Floridant -- Flagler OARS and Discover & Recover St. Johns, both non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting recovery from substance use disorder, are excited to invite the community to the 4th Annual Recovery Music Festival on September 21st, 2024. This FREE event is designed to celebrate recovery, spread messages of hope, and support individuals on their recovery journey.
"We are thrilled to be expanding the Recovery Fest this year and hosting it at the beautiful Florida Agricultural Museum," said Pam Birtolo, Executive Director at Flagler OARS. "This event provides a platform for artists, designers, and the community to come together to celebrate recovery and raise awareness of the resources available…and have some fun," Pam added.
At this free event, attendees can enjoy live music from a variety of performers and bands, featuring Grammy-nominated American folk singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier, and local favorites Mandalla, Musical Charis, Twins' Finnegan, Feedback The Band, and Jay Wirth. Additionally, there will be over 50 exhibitions from local organizations and food trucks to explore.
The event takes place during National Recovery Month, which is held to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices. It celebrates the nation's strong recovery community and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery possible. Initiated by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in 1989, this month-long observance aims to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders while celebrating those in recovery.
