The speaker series through April covers economics, investing, estate planning and lifestyle trends
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Sanibel Captiva Trust Company's first event in its 2023 Fort Myers speaker series is Jan. 31. The complimentary speaker series through April covers relevant topics from economics and investing to estate planning and lifestyle trends.
"We are pleased to offer thought-provoking and energizing programs targeted to area residents as we prepare to open our Fort Myers office at Bell Tower later this spring," said Market President Jeffrey A. Muddell, CFP. "We have been serving island and Fort Myers communities with vital investment strategies and philanthropic support since 2001."
Events are scheduled at the Event Center, 1901 Brantley Road, Suite 7, in Fort Myers, and begin with a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and a 10 a.m. program.
Events include:
o "Unexpected Incapacity," with Craig R. Hersch, Florida Bar Board Certified Wills, Trusts & Estates Attorney; CPA, Sheppard Law Firm. No one plans to become incapacitated. Learn how to put plans in place that will go to work if this happens to you.

o "The Problem Child," with Peter Knize, J.D., LL.M, Fiduciary Services, The Trust Company. Do you worry about your adult or minor problem child? Are there estrangement, criminal, financial, creditor, divorce or spendthrift issues? Hear the panel's advice and suggestions to manage these stressful situations.
o "Avoid the Messy Estate Settlement," with Hayley A. Donaldson, attorney with the Sheppard Law Firm. What happens to families and heirs after death when personal assets are not properly titled? A little strategy ahead of time is the real gift to your family.
This presentation will cover Southwest Florida from the perspectives of demographics, economics, employment and economic opportunities, education and more.

- Friday, Feb. 24: "The Invisible Patient," with Annalee Kruger, author, senior care advisor and caregiver advocate. Caring for a family member can be a rewarding experience, but the stress involved can cause caregivers to put themselves and their wellbeing in the background resulting in "the invisible patient." The author of "The Invisible Patient" speaks on how caregivers can fulfill their role without losing themselves in the process.
- Tuesday, April 4: "The Past, Present and Future of Southwest Florida," with Dr. Aysegul Timur, vice president and vice provost of Strategy and Program Innovation and member of the Regional Economic Research Institute at Florida Gulf Coast University.
This presentation will cover Southwest Florida from the perspectives of demographics, economics, employment and economic opportunities, education and more.
