TALLAHASSEE, Fla. ~ Tallahassee, Fla. - First Lady Casey DeSantis has once again highlighted the success of the Hope Florida initiative by releasing video testimonials from three Floridians who have been served by the program. The new video, titled "Success in Hope," showcases the impact of the first-in-the-nation program and its ability to help individuals unlock their potential and achieve economic self-sufficiency.

In her statement, First Lady DeSantis emphasized the importance of collaboration between business and nonprofit leaders in making Hope Florida a success. She also shared that since its inception, nearly 20,000 Floridians have been helped off public assistance programs and onto a path to prosperity.

The video follows three families who have benefited from the program and are now thriving. Through Hope Florida, individuals in need are paired with a Hope Navigator who connects them with employment opportunities, education resources, and customized plans for success made possible through volunteer contributors from businesses, community leaders, and nonprofits.

Department of Children and Families Secretary Shevaun Harris praised Hope Florida as a national benchmark for how government should be helping families become economically self-sufficient instead of relying on government programs. She also commended the work of Hope Navigators in transcending traditional methods of engaging with Floridians in need.

He was homeless before being referred to Hope Florida and assigned a dedicated Hope Navigator who went above and beyond to ensure he had all the tools necessary to succeed. With their help, Justin received a full scholarship for Valencia College and landed a job through their apprentice program that put him "100 steps ahead."

Celia, another success story from the program, was struggling with student loans and rent while trying to finish school. She was introduced to a Hope Navigator who encouraged her to continue her education dreams. With their support, Celia was able to finish school and secure a full-time job after being connected with daycare resources.

Mary Lou's story is one of resilience and determination. After experiencing pregnancy complications and the tragic loss of her child, she returned to work to support her family only to lose her job shortly after. She reached out to Hope Florida and was connected with a Hope Navigator who helped her navigate her difficult circumstances and develop a specialized plan.

Through implementation at multiple state agencies, Hope Florida utilizes Hope Navigators to guide Floridians on an individualized path to prosperity and economic self-sufficiency.
