First Lady Casey DeSantis Highlights Hope Florida’s Role with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice

GREENVILLE, Fla. ~ Greenville, Fla. - First Lady Casey DeSantis, along with Department of Juvenile Justice Secretary Eric Hall and Hope Navigators, gathered yesterday to bring attention to the services provided by Hope Florida – A Pathway to Potential, a juvenile justice program. This program offers resources for at-risk youth and their families as well as assistance for youth transitioning back into their communities after being in the juvenile justice system.

During the event, First Lady Casey DeSantis expressed her gratitude for the work being done by Hope Navigators in helping youth in the juvenile justice system find new passions and overcome obstacles in their lives. She also highlighted the importance of having resources and support available for at-risk youth and their families to prevent and address issues that may hinder their success.

Secretary Eric Hall also spoke about the impact of Hope Florida since its partnership with the Department of Juvenile Justice in 2023. He shared that hundreds of youth and families have received support from Hope Navigators in identifying and overcoming barriers to success. He also emphasized how this program complements the Department's existing efforts in prevention, early intervention, and rehabilitation.

As part of her visit, First Lady Casey DeSantis toured Joann Bridges Youth Academy, a residential program under DJJ. She had the opportunity to meet with current residents and engage with them about their future goals after leaving the juvenile justice system. The First Lady also had a chance to speak with Hope Navigators during her visit.
