NAPLES, Fla. ~ NAPLES, Fla. - First Lady Casey DeSantis, in her continued efforts to support and strengthen the nonprofit sector in Florida, awarded six Collier County organizations with $10,000 each through the Hope Florida Fund. The recipients of this recognition were Golden PAWS Assistance Dogs, St. Matthew's House, Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, Project B.U.I.L.D., Baby Basics of Collier County, and Trailways Camps.
During the check presentations, First Lady DeSantis discussed the mission of the Hope Florida initiative and its goal to break down traditional silos and better serve the needs of Floridians. Since its inception in 2021, Hope Florida has served over 86,000 individuals.
The Hope Florida Fund was launched by the First Lady in July 2022 as a way to utilize private sector charity to provide funds to deserving local nonprofit organizations through the Hope Florida initiative. These award recipients serve a variety of individuals including children, families, veterans, and those with unique abilities through mentorship programs, material support, and educational opportunities.

Through collaboration between multiple state agencies and the use of Hope Navigators, this initiative aims to guide individuals on a personalized path towards economic self-sufficiency. By breaking down traditional community silos and involving all sectors - private sector, faith-based community, nonprofits, and government entities - Hope Navigators help individuals identify their immediate needs and develop long-term goals.
