Introducing Phase One of Southwest Florida's First Regional Autism Support Hub
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Floridant -- Family Initiative, a Cape Coral-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and young adults impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), proudly announces the formal opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for Thrive Academy. This event marks the launch of the first phase in Family Initiative's broader vision to create the region's first comprehensive autism support hub. The ceremony will occur on October 30, 2024, at the new Thrive Academy campus at 3301 Chiquita Blvd S, Cape Coral, FL 33914. Paul Renner, Florida Speaker of the House will serve as the keynote speaker.

"We are beyond excited to celebrate this milestone with our community," said David Brown, LCSW, President and co-founder of Family Initiative. "Thrive Academy is just the beginning of a much larger project. Our vision is to create the Family Initiative Regional Autism Hub—a space that will encompass Thrive Academy, a special needs shelter, an autism support center, and assisted living facilities, all located on the same 4.5-acre property."
The 4.5-acre campus, which includes three buildings totaling 20,000 square feet, was acquired through a $5 million grant awarded to Family Initiative. An additional $250,000 grant from the Golisano Foundation has provided further support for the academy's development.
