FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Elite DNA Behavioral Health, a comprehensive behavioral and mental health care provider, recently hosted its Back-to-School Supplies Drive, collecting 2,100 essential items to help students across Florida prepare for the 2023-24 school year.
The month-long collection spanned 32 Elite DNA offices across the state and aimed to help students feel emotionally prepared for the school year by equipping them with the necessary resources to thrive in the classroom. The collection gathered a variety of classroom items, including backpacks, notebooks, binders, college and wide-ruled paper, pocket folders, pens, No. 2 and colored pencils, pink erasers, highlighters, pencil boxes, student scissors, glue sticks, wired headphones, sanitizing wipes and more.
The drive benefited students in schools across Alachua, Broward, Charlotte, Clay, Collier, Duval, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Martin, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole and Volusia counties.
"Every year, we see an increase in the costs of essential back-to-school items, which can cause anxiety and stress for families. With rising inflation, food and gas prices and many regions still navigating the lasting impacts of last year's storm season, we see even more families struggling to afford necessities this year," said Elizabeth Dosoretz, LCSW, founder and CEO of Elite DNA Behavioral Health. "We are so thankful for all of you who helped support local children through this drive and set them up with the tools they need for another successful school year."
