FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands is inviting the Southwest Florida community to participate in its fraud, scams and identity theft sessions in January and February.
Local law enforcement agencies will have an open discussion and question-and-answer session to help residents recognize and report scams and detect, protect and report fraud and abuse.
The first session will be presented by a representative of the Sanibel Police Department on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Bank of the Islands, located at 1699 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel. The second session will be presented by a representative of the Lee County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Edison National Bank, located at 13000 S. Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers.
"Scams and identity theft can happen to anyone, which is why educating the community on prevention and providing resources is extremely important to us," said Geoffrey Roepstorff, CEO of Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands. "We are proud to offer these sessions and bring local experts together to support our customers and residents throughout Southwest Florida."
