Founded in 2006 by a father-and-son team, Drake Ready Mix started from humble beginnings with less than 10 employees. Now, the company has grown to over 100 employees, nearly doubling its staff in the past four years alone.

Held Oct. 25 at the Caloosa Sound Convention Center, the Industry Appreciation Awards gathered local dignitaries and business and community leaders in honoring Lee County businesses and individuals that drive the local economy, employ the workforce and shape their industries. Hosted by The Horizon Foundation, Horizon Council and Lee County Economic Development Office, the program recognized 27 finalists across nine categories before honoring a winner in each category.
