FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Community Cooperative will host its popular annual fall fundraiser, Becoming Cosmopolitan: Mad About Hunger, on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon in Fort Myers.
Over 300 guests will venture down the rabbit hole for an absolutely maddening evening featuring a mad tea party and treats, cocktails that will make you big and small, an imaginative silent auction, and a wondrously good time – all while raising money to support Community Cooperative's mission of ending hunger and homelessness in Southwest Florida.
While the theme of the event is fun, the reason for it is serious. In 2022, Feeding America reported that nearly 178,000 people in Southwest Florida were food insecure, including almost 41,000 children.
"This event is a light-hearted way to raise much needed funds to help our neighbors who are facing serious challenges with food insecurity," said Stefanie Ink Edwards, CEO of Community Cooperative. "With this whimsical journey, we hope to help fulfill our dream of getting one step closer to ending hunger and homelessness in Southwest Florida."
