The Spanish book market will be a prime distribution focus, expanding existing presence
MIAMI - Floridant -- MIAMI -- Renowned children's book author Carla Martilotti is expanding her presence in the European book market, with a heavy focus on Spain, not to mention a host of other countries, including the United Kingdom (including Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland, Gibraltar, and Jersey), Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France, Monaco, Belgium, Italy, San Marino, Vatican City, Japan, Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, Australia and New Zealand.
Ms. Martilotti, who has penned more than a dozen successful children's books in her years of writing, has an ongoing distribution relationship with Amazon, who disperses her books in dozens of countries around the world. This new, wider distribution fills a much-needed void in the children's literature market, which has seen a steady decrease in authors and materials recently.
"We've noticed that more and more parents in Spain are looking for quality reading material when it comes to their children," said Glenn Hanson, literary agent for Ms. Martilotti. "And most of what's out there right now is just of a quality that's too violent, too mature for younger readers. And that just doesn't sit well with parents."

Ms. Martilotti's books have always focused on old-fashioned story-telling, Hanson said, all of which teach little morals at the end. They have been "wildly popular" in both the print book as well as e-book markets, and sales show "no sign of letting up soon," Hanson said.
"A handful of Carla's books have been translated into Spanish, and that's a definite plus when it comes to broadening our literary horizons," Hanson said. "We're taking a look at having them translated into other languages as well."
Two of Carla's most popular books include "Mishi's Magic World" and "Mitten the Kitten in Shadowland." As to the method that Ms. Martilotti's books will be distributed throughout Europe and South America on an even grander level, "that's still under negotiation right now," Hanson said, "but once the ink is dry on the paperwork, you'll see her books more than you're seeing them right now. And that's saying a lot, because right now, they're everywhere!"
