FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- The week of Sept. 8, 2024, has been designated by the U.S. Senate as "National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week." Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential in ensuring people with developmental disabilities live a fully productive life of their choosing.

To recognize the unyielding dedication helping individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities participating in the Pathways to Opportunity (PTO) program, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida will be ordering lunch for their Direct Support Professionals (DSP) at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Today, September 11, 2024, the DSPs received a little thank you goodie bag with a note from the Executive Team, and Tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2024, Goodwill will be ordering Starbucks for the DSP staff.

Pathways to Opportunity is a full-day life skills development program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities that offers group classes based on participants needs and interests.
