California employment and class action lawyer Ian Silvers has been named partner at the Newport Beach law firm of Bisnar Chase. Silvers joined the firm in the fall of 2018 and has since secured numerous seven-figure results in employment and class action cases and was named 2024 Top Labor and Employment Lawyers by the prestigious Daily Journal.
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Floridant -- Newport Beach law firm of Bisnar Chase names attorney Ian Silvers as partner. Silvers has been with the firm since 2018.
"I'm thrilled and grateful to be named a partner of this law firm, whose attorneys and associates have a true passion and heart for helping people and treating them with dignity and compassion," he said.
During his time at Bisnar Chase, Silvers has played a critical role in the firm's class action litigation and employment law department. He handles a number of claims, particularly wage and hour cases that involve protecting workers who have not been paid due wages. Notably, in July 2020, Silvers settled a wage-and-hour class action against a defendant employer for $8,750,000 in a California Superior Court, as the result of which the employment class action got final approval from the court.
He has also handled cases involving unpaid minimum wages, overtime, meal and rest break violations and other claims for false wage statements and penalties for paying wages late. In July 2021, Silvers settled a wage and hour class and PAGA action against a defendant employer for $4,880,000 in a California superior court. The certified employment class action involved claims for unpaid minimum wages, meal and rest break violations and derivative claims for inaccurate wage statements and penalties for late payment of wages due.

Each year, California's workers lose hundreds of millions of dollars in unpaid wages.
"Wage theft is a scourge in California and it largely affects those who live paycheck to paycheck and depend on their wages to feed their families," Silvers said. "So, for me, these cases are not just about the money, but about helping employees get their dignity back and move on with their lives. These are real people with real struggles, and they deserve to have attorneys like us fight hard on their behalf against injustice and unscrupulous behavior."
Brian Chase, senior partner at Bisnar Chase, said Silvers commitment to fight for employees' rights and his perseverance to obtain the best results for them, is impressive and inspiring.
"I appreciate the energy and care he brings to every case and how he is motivated by the difference he makes in the lives of our clients and their families," Chase said. "I'm excited for our future work together as partners."
Silvers graduated from the University of California, San Diego, in June 2003 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He obtained his law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law in May 2006. Silvers said an internship at the Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center while in law school gave him the opportunity to help low-income workers under the supervision of other lawyers in employment matters such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, unpaid wages and wrongful termination. This experience, he said, truly gave him a sense of what it meant to help employees who have been wronged or mistreated, and inspired him to pursue this area of the law.
