FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County raised $50,000 at its Third Annual Golf Tournament, which attracted 21 foursomes and 11 sponsors for a day on the links at Babcock Ranch.
Held Oct. 6 at Babcock National Golf & Country Club, the golf tournament featured 18 holes of championship golf along with on-course activities, raffle prizes and a barbecue lunch.
"Golf is a favorite pastime in Southwest Florida, and our supporters enjoyed an opportunity to play the game they love while generating revenue for programs that serve so many children and teens in Southwest Florida," said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County.
Proceeds will help enhance after-school and summer programs at eight community, neighborhood and school clubs across Lee County. Boys & Girls Club programs focus on five core areas: education and career, service and leadership, health and wellness, the arts, and sports and recreation.
The title sponsor was Lee Health. Event sponsors included Lennar, Geraghty Stockman Attorneys at Law, Pacific Peak, Metromont, Catalyst, Sherwin Williams, Lake Michigan Credit Union, Pulte Homes, Lee County Sheriff's Office, Gulf Point Properties and BCI Pools.
