FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is offering two hiring events to job seekers in Southwest Florida on Oct. 15 and Oct. 21.
The Oct. 15 event is a second-chance job fair, promoting the power of second chances for neighbors who face barriers to employment. These can include past incarceration, homelessness, lack of transportation or child care, or gaps in employment. The job fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Grace Church, located at 13 S.E. 21st Place in Cape Coral. Job seekers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/GraceChurch or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.
The Oct. 21 community job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverside Church, located at 8660 Daniels Parkway in Fort Myers. Job seekers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/Riverside or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.
Registration is now open for job seekers and employers to participate in the October events. With a spirit of hope and celebration, the church-based job fairs empower job seekers by connecting them with local employers who are ready to hire, while offering supportive services that foster meaningful connections and increase opportunities for lasting employment. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are available to job seekers to review resumes, and additional services will be available onsite.

With job openings available across various industry sectors, participating employers for the Cape Coral event include AWP Safety, Choice1Temps, City of Cape Coral, Coolair Conditioning, Heads Up Roofing, Mancan Staffing, Reece Windows & Doors, Southeastern Traffic Supply, St. Matthew's House and United States Postal Service (USPS). Resource partners joining Better Together in offering various onsite services include Al-Anon Family Groups, Alcoholics Anonymous, CareerSource Southwest Florida, Florida Gulf Coast University, FutureMakers Coalition, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Kairos Outside Southwest Florida, Lee County Clerk of Courts, Lee County Human & Veteran Services, Overeaters Anonymous, Oxford House and Vocational Rehabilitation.
