JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Floridant -- Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is offering two hiring events to job seekers in Jacksonville on Thursday, Oct. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 28.
The Oct. 23 job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in partnership with Gateway to Heaven Christian Church, located at 7700 North Pearl St. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/GatewayToHeaven or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.
The Oct. 28 job fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in partnership with Northside Church of Christ, located at 4736 Ave. B. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/NorthsideCOC or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.
Registration is now open for hiring employers and job seekers to participate in the October events. With a spirit of hope and celebration, the church-based job fairs empower job seekers by connecting them with local employers who are ready to hire, while offering supportive services that foster meaningful connections and increase opportunities for lasting employment. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are available to job seekers to review resumes, and additional services will be available onsite.

With job openings available across various industry sectors, participating employers for the Oct. 23 event include Building Talent Foundation, Chartwells, Goodwill Industries of North Florida, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, Jacksonville Housing Authority, Manpower and Mobile Mouth Maintenance. Resource partners joining Better Together in offering various onsite services include CareerSource Northeast Florida, JaxCareConnect, PNC Bank, Self-Help Credit Union and Statewide Workforce Development.
Participating employers for the Oct. 28 event include Goodwill Industries of North Florida, Keller Williams First Coast Realty, Republic Services and Union Correctional Institution. Resource partners joining Better Together in offering various onsite services include Agape Family Health, Jacksonville Transportation Authority, Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida, Northside Church of Christ, Northside Community Involvement, PNC Bank and Volunteers in Medicine.
The community job fairs are part of Better Together's "Better Jobs" program, which has helped more than 45,600 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 24 states. So far this year, more than 2,600 interviews or initial jobs have been offered.
