FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Avow, a Collier County-based nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice care, non-hospice palliative care, and grief and loss support, has promoted Katie Schweikhardt to Director of Philanthropy for Avow Foundation. Schweikhardt joined the Avow Foundation team in January 2021 as a major gifts officer.
In her new role, she will be directly coaching and mentoring a team of three dedicated fundraisers while continuing to manage her own portfolio of donors.
"She has been a valued team member in helping the fundraising team achieve aggressive goals and will be an exceptional leader in her new role," said Annalise Smith, chief philanthropy officer for Avow. "With her experience as an estate planning attorney and expertise in fundraising, she is well positioned to lead Avow's philanthropic endeavors, working with donors and our team to fulfill our mission."
Schweikhardt earned a bachelor's degree in foreign languages and literature from Southern Methodist University and her Doctor of Law from The University of Florida. Schweikhardt is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and is the President of the Collier Lee Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
