FORT MYERS, Fla. - Floridant -- Avow has achieved reaccreditation of The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization's commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
"As a heath care accreditor, The Joint Commission works with health care organizations across settings to help improve patient safety and quality of care through our expert resources and tools, innovative solutions and rigorous standards," says Deborah Ryan, MS, RN, interim executive vice president, Accreditation and Certification Operations, The Joint Commission. "We commend Avow for its commitment to advance safety and quality for all patients."
To receive the accreditation, Avow underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review Feb. 7-10. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with standards spanning several areas, including equipment management, emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, information management, medication management and National Patient Safety Goals.

"This reputation is one of our greatest assets as we fulfill our mission to create peace of mind by providing compassionate care and support to those who need us."
Avow staff prepares throughout the year with team education, regular process reminders, mock surveys, and the Avow Regulatory Readiness Guide provided to each team member.
