The Blocker brings AI-powered child internet protection to families — DNS protection free forever, no app, no router changes
BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - Floridant -- ,As Anthropic, the AI safety company behind Claude, filed confidentially for an IPO this week, a Boynton Beach entrepreneur quietly launched what may be the first consumer product powered by Claude AI available to the general public.
The Blocker, developed by Ask Charly LLC, is a cloud-based parental internet protection platform that uses Anthropic's Claude AI to deliver personalized daily reports to parents about their child's online environment. The product blocks 21 categories of harmful content — including adult content, social media, gambling, and self-harm — at the DNS level, requiring no app installation on the child's device and no changes to the home router.
"Every major parental control product charges monthly fees for basic content filtering," said David Goodman, founder of Ask Charly LLC. "The Blocker gives that away for free. What we charge for is something no competitor can offer at all — an AI that knows your child's exact age, their interests, and four child development frameworks, and uses all of that to write a personalized daily report that gets smarter every single day."

The AI component, called AgeGuard Intelligence, applies four child development frameworks simultaneously — Jean Piaget's cognitive development theory, American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines, Common Sense Media ratings, and CDC child safety milestones — calibrated to the child's exact date of birth, not just their age in years. A provisional patent application has been filed.
The Blocker's AI guardian, Charly — modeled after Goodman's Havanese dog Sophie — delivers morning and evening reports to parents, can call parents by phone when serious content blocks occur, and learns more about each child over time as parents update their child's profile.
The free tier is available immediately at theblocker.net. The AI Edition, which includes Charly's daily reports and phone alerts, is $9.95 per month with a 7-day free trial and no credit card required.
