PALM COAST, Fla. - Floridant -- Apex, an international pharmaceutical company, today announced that 77-year-old Rick Meyer has been named an official APEX ATHLETE, representing the company in two prestigious athletic competitions this fall while demonstrating the power of their flagship supplement, Muscle Defense.
Meyer will face an extraordinary challenge: competing in the NPC Physique Fitness Contest followed by the US National Senior Pickleball Championships just 30 days later – all while recovering from hip replacement surgery scheduled seven weeks before his first competition.
Defying Age and Adversity
"I've been using Muscle Defense for the past three months and have seen incredible results – increased muscle mass, decreased body fat, improved energy levels, and faster recovery times," said Meyer, who turns 77 in November. "Plus, it actually tastes great, which makes consistency easy."

Muscle Defense, manufactured and distributed by Apex, supports optimal muscle growth through a proprietary blend of vital amino acids, hydrolyzed whey protein, and anabolic enhancing components specifically formulated for individuals over 50.
Competition for a Cause
Beyond athletic achievement, Meyer and Apex will use these competitions as a platform to raise awareness and donations for Provision Packs, a nonprofit organization that provides weekend meal packages to local children in need. Founded by Carrie Torres with just two children, the program has grown dramatically over the past decade and now serves more than 800 students every week during the school year.
"Rick embodies everything our brand represents – determination, resilience, and the belief that age is just a number," said [Apex spokesperson name]. "His commitment to giving back to the community while pursuing athletic excellence at 77 makes him the perfect ambassador for Muscle Defense."
