NAPLES, Fla. - Floridant -- Sunshine Ace Hardware joined Ace Hardware stores nationwide in helping raise $88,147 to support the American Red Cross' Hurricane Ian disaster relief efforts.
Through its Red Cross Round Up at the Register program, Ace Hardware customers were able to make donations that helped provide hot meals, relief supplies, temporary shelter operations and other post-storm assistance across Florida. Sunshine Ace customers contributed more than $5,000 to the fund during a two-week collection.
"Many of our customers had damage to their homes, vehicles, personal belongings and businesses, yet they still rounded up their purchases to help a neighbor in need," said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. "Our sense of community is stronger than ever because Southwest Floridians recognize the importance of helping others and paying it forward."

In addition to the customer-driven Red Cross Round Up, the Ace Foundation donated $25,000 in emergency assistance to Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, which sustained some flood damage and power outages from the storm. The donation helped provide medication, medical equipment, counseling for families, baby formula, diapers and more.
