CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Floridant -- Caring for the Cape's island-inspired event on Jan. 31 at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village raised $162,450 for advancing healthcare in Cape Coral.
Guests enjoyed Caribbean-inspired steel drum music, cuisine, tropical cocktails and silent and live auctions featuring dining experiences, travel, memorabilia and more, all while learning about supporting Lee Health to help expand healthcare programs in Cape Coral.
The event was emceed by Corey Lazar with WINK News. Leaders from all over the health system shared updates on the future of healthcare in Cape Coral and the culture of the community.
"Cape Coral's population is projected to reach 400,000 people within the next decade, and we are committed to meeting the community's growing healthcare needs," said Katy Martinez, senior director of development at Lee Health Foundation. "With the community's steadfast support, we can ensure families can access exceptional care when and where they need it most."

Community support directly contributes to expanding programs and services, including emergency and urgent care, primary care, pediatrics, oncology, cardiology, orthopedics and more. Progress continues the development of the 100,000-square-foot Veteran's Medical Center, and soon, the Bimini Square Medical Clinic will also offer primary and pediatric care, along with new specialty services like cardiology, imaging, breast health and behavioral health.
Among many sponsors of the event that helped contribute to its success were Gold Sponsors: DeAngelis Diamond, Lake Michigan Credit Union and Windward Construction and Silver Sponsors: B&I Contractors, Florida Blue, The Community Foundation, Key Benefit Administrators and Vitas Healthcare.
