JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Floridant -- The Holiday Nerd Market (HNM), a one-of-a-kind, time based entry, festive experience for fans of all things nerdy and local, returns for its fifth year on Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, from 12–5 p.m. at Aloft Tapestry Park. Known for blending pop culture with purpose, the Holiday Nerd Market has grown from a ticketed event to a free community-centered gathering, fueled by the passion of local artists, small businesses, and one mission: Do Good.
This year's event takes "local" to the next level with the addition of the Nerd Village, an interactive, miniaturized neighborhood featuring 3-foot cardboard "houses" decorated by local artists and businesses. More than a market, HNM invites attendees to experience the artistry, compassion, and inclusiveness of Jacksonville's nerd culture through creative expressions, unique vendors, and charity-focused activities.
A Market with a Heart: A Tribute to Family and Community Values

Founder Ryan Paul Thompson, driven by the legacy of his late mother, Margot Thompson, has reshaped HNM to prioritize community support over profit. After a break during COVID, Ryan reintroduced the Holiday Nerd Market as a free event for both attendees and vendors, funded entirely by local sponsorships and crowdfunding. This year's presenting sponsor, Community First Credit Union, embodies this community spirit, providing the support needed to bring this beloved market to life once again.
"My mother taught me the importance of helping others," said Thompson. "Holiday Nerd Market has become a place where we can give back to the community, showcasing the true value of people helping people, all within the culture we love."
Event Highlights:
With its dedication to local artistry, charitable giving, and community connection, the 2024 Holiday Nerd Market promises a holiday shopping experience like no other. Entry is free for all attendees, as are vendor fees, thanks to the generous support of local sponsors.
